About Me
I am a doctoral candidate and qualitative researcher in the Sociology Department at NYU. I study the construction and performance of expertise at the intersection of law and medicine, with a specific focus on women’s sexual health. I am also a graduate employee adjunct for undergraduate courses such as Law & Society and Miscarriages of Justice in the Law and Society program at NYU.
Prior to joining the NYU Sociology Department, I obtained my J.D. from Columbia Law School, practiced law at a large firm, and clerked for the Honorable Analisa Torres in the District Court for the Southern District of New York. I bring this practical experience to bear in my research and firmly believe that the practice of law, and well as legislation and policymaking, should be informed by the realities of everyday practice as well as empirical research on the patterns of social interaction that shape the way we interact with the institutions that shape our lives.
Outside of my legal and sociological academic work, my interests include running, reading mystery novels, and spoiling my dog.
